IMG Media, part of IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, has teamed up with Digital Goldfish Ltd to launch the official World’s Strongest Man (WSM) app for iPhone and iPad.
The app, which has been in development for over a year, is available on Apple’s iTunes platform for £1.99 and is designed around the journey of an athlete and his training regime from amateur to professional status. Digital Goldfish’s previous app credits include The Mr Men and the Baloons series.
The World’s Strongest Man™, which was created in 1977, is owned and operated by IMG and has become the premier event in strength athletics. For over 35 years, the strongest men on the planet have come together annually to compete in a series of unique tests of strength with the goal of becoming, The World's Strongest Man. The show is broadcast in nearly 40 territories with a household reach of over 400 million.
The app will mirror the real WSM athletes and requires players to take part in, and carefully balance a gruelling strength and conditioning programme along with participation in an annual calendar of qualifier and final events.
Players will need to train their character and boost their stats to ensure they are up to the task of taking on the elite. Competing in real life events using intuitive touch screen controls, players are placed right in the heart of the action and explore the best way to build a strongman body to compete.
