First Ever Multiple Transit Station Sponsorship Program with Second Largest Transit System in the U.S.
IMG to Offer Exclusive Corporate Sponsorship and Marketing Rights Opportunities for Eleven Chicago Rail Stations
IMG Worldwide, the global sports, fashion and media company, and the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) today announced the eleven rail stations in Chicago that will be part of an exclusive corporate partnership program.
This first-ever partnership in the U.S. between the CTA and IMG will provide an exclusive platform for businesses to create and leverage a variety of rights and benefits at CTA stations in Chicago across multiple rail lines. Sponsorship opportunities offered at the first eleven stations include brand marketing, online and traditional advertising, naming rights and onsite activation programs, among others.
As part of the agreement, corporate brand partner’s names will be added to the current station partners names. O’Hare, Fullerton, Belmont, Addison, Chicago, Grand/State, 95th, North/Clybourn, Midway, Ashland 63rd and 79th will serve as the eleven gateway stations for the program. Through analysis by IMG of key variables such as location, brand visibility and exposure, high volume of ridership, and maximized revenue potential these stations were identified as the best sites for the initial program station roll-out.
The CTA operates the second largest public transportation system in the nation. CTA provides bus and subway service for the city of Chicago and 40 surrounding suburbs. The CTA operates 24 hours a day, year round and provide nearly 1.7 million rides on an average weekday over eight rail lines and 140 bus routes.
George Pyne, President IMG Sports and Entertainment, said, “Chicago is quickly becoming a preferred destination for hosting entertainment and sporting events and for filming movies which creates potential for national exposure of a corporate partner’s brand. Business partners will be able to expand their reach and generate greater consumer awareness and impact for their brand through this comprehensive corporate partnership program. This is truly a revolutionary sponsorship platform with tremendous opportunity for revenue growth that we have created with the CTA.”
Forrest Claypool, President of CTA, said, “Partnering with IMG to develop this innovative program across our city rail stations helps our customers by providing a creative alternative for the administration to generate new revenue streams needed to maintain and improve our infrastructure. The CTA is focused on providing reliable, consistent, and enjoyable transportation service to our customers.”
