The World Cup in Wengen is the most important and most traditional Ski Alpine event in Switzerland with the famous “Lauberhorn”- Downhill Race. The event takes places every year in January. 2007 will be the 77th edition. More than 50.000 spectators from all over the world attend the 3 race days. The LPGA returns to South Carolina with The Ginn Tribute Hosted by Annika Sorenstam. This innaugural event features a $2.6 million purse and will honor a different LPGA historic figure each year. The tributee will be honored and saluted in ceremonies during tournament week. Last year saw the battle for HSBC Womens' World Match Play title at Hamilton Farm, New Jersey. This year, the tournament returns, to be played at Wykagyl Country Club, with a purse of $2 million. The defending champion, Brittany Lincicome, will return to defend her title.

About The R&A The R&A is golf's world rules and development body and organiser of The Open Championship. Four-day festival of entertainment and motor racing, comprising Champ Cars, V8 Supercars, on-track and off-track entertainment. Sanctioned by the FIA (International Motorsport Body) and CAMS (Australian Motorsport Body).
In its inaugural year, the event will take place in Fresno, California and will be the first tournament hosted at the newly opened Running Horse Golf & Country Club. The PGA Tour event will offer a purse of $4.5 million. A co-design of Jack Nicklaus and his son, each hole is strategically designed to test the skill of the golfer.

Milan Fashion Week for women's wear
The 2008 Daytona 500 will mark the 50th running of "The Great American Race", and is scheduled to be run on Sunday, February 17, 2008, celebrating the Golden Anniversary of the first race run in 1959, won by Lee Petty. The Harley J. Earl Trophy, which goes to the winner of the race, will be plated in gold instead of silver to commemorate this event. The race is scheduled to be the first Daytona 500 run using NASCAR's Car of Tomorrow, which was introduced in 2007, and become standard as of 2008.

Once again this fall, an exclusive, invite-only field of the world's top 20 competitors in womens' golf will converge at BIGHORN Golf Club to contest the 28th edition of the Championship. Players will vie for the largest purse in event history, $1,000,000. Because of the elite field, the Samsung World Championship is informally known by players and fans alike as the "fifth major" on the LPGA Tour. NBC Sports and ESPN will broadcast the event.
