Internships - UK

Why An Internship At IMG?

Our Internship scheme offers an exciting opportunity for enthusiastic individuals to gain practical experience within a Global sports, fashion and media working environment, offering a valuable insight into our business culture and building those all important skills required for your future careers. Whichever department you are placed in, you will be guaranteed a taste of life at the heart of IMG, working alongside fellow Interns and experienced professionals on a variety of exciting projects. You will get an inside look at the people, methods and technologies at work and understand the value we place on quality and integrity.

Interns are typically exposed to the day-to-day operations of specific departments, with the opportunity to be guided by established industry professionals. Interns may also be involved in locally sponsored IMG events, depending on the office location and/or division.

About Our UK Internships

IMG's Internships have been successfully running for 14 years and are still proving extremely popular as the programmes attract several hundred applicants each year. The majority of our Internships are located at our International headquarters in Chiswick; however since 2009 we have also had Interns working at our other offices in Wembley and Soho. All our Internship placements are based on IMG's current business needs.

What We Look For

Whilst each Internship will have its own particular requirements, there are a number of attributes which you will need to demonstrate during the selection process. We require our Interns to be either currently studying at University (or equivalent), or to have recently graduated. Fundamental skills will include a high standard of written and spoken English, numeracy and computer-literacy. You will possess strong written and verbal communication skills, a flexible approach and a team player mentality.

A genuine passion and enthusiasm is essential for you to gain the most from your placement, along with a willingness to learn, and a high level of commitment.

Working Entitlement

If you are looking for an Internship within the UK you must have an EEA passport and/or UK work visa. If you do not have full working entitlement you will need to arrange the appropriate documentation to allow you to be employed in the UK. If you are shortlisted you will be asked to provide evidence of your right to work in the UK.

Diversity

As a Global company IMG prides itself on creating a diverse working environment; we welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds.

    Graduate Internship

    Our Graduate Internship scheme provides an excellent opportunity for recent graduates wishing to pursue a career within IMG. The duration of these Internships vary between 3 – 6 months. Throughout this period, you will be given the chance to work in a challenging and rewarding environment and although there are no guarantees that your placement will lead to a permanent position, it can be a great stepping stone!

    How Do Graduate Internships Arise?

    Our Graduate Internships are created in accordance with current business needs and can therefore occur in any department at any time throughout the year. So far in 2012, we have placed a total of 59 Graduate Interns across a variety of divisions.

    Application Process

    Whilst completing your application form, you will be given the opportunity to highlight your areas of interest. This will enable us to consider you for an internship that best suits your skill set and interests (subject to our business needs at the time).

    Our typical Graduate Internship selection process is outlined below:

    1) Applicants can apply at any point during the year;

    2) An Internship arises within a specific department;

    3) Candidates best suited to that opportunity are contacted directly to see if they are available and interested in the role;

    4) Shortlisted applications are submitted to the department and reviewed;

    5) A small number of applicants will be invited to attend a face to face interview;

    6) The successful candidate is offered the opportunity and a start date is agreed.

    Unfortunately as interest often exceeds the number of placements we have available, we are unable to offer all applicants the opportunity to be part of our Graduate Internship Scheme.
