Q&A
Q: Can I send IMG my business ideas?
A: IMG and its employees do not accept or consider unsolicited ideas, including ideas for new or improved events, promotions, products, marketing plans or strategies, or services. Please do not send any original creative artwork, samples, videotapes, demonstrations, or other works. The sole purpose of this policy is to avoid potential misunderstandings or disputes when IMG's events, services, products, services, or marketing strategies might seem similar to ideas submitted to IMG. Please do not send your unsolicited ideas to IMG or anyone at IMG. If, despite our request that you not send IMG your ideas and materials, you still send them, please understand that IMG makes no assurances that your ideas and materials will be treated as confidential or proprietary.
Q: How do I become an agent?
A: Most of our client managers or agents got their start by working in entry-level positions at IMG. Those who do exceptionally well are asked to assist with client needs, and based on performance would eventually be given all the client responsibilities. Please note, we do not hire external candidates for agent positions.
Q: Do I need a law degree to become a sports agent?
A: No, you do not need a law degree. While it could be helpful during the contract process, it is not a requirement.
Q: Do you hire non-U.S. citizens to work in any of your U.S. offices or can I apply for work in any of your offices around the world?
A: Yes, but for most of the countries in which IMG operates, some immigration and/or work permit regulations apply, and where work permits are needed we have to follow strict guidelines and be able to make a strong case as to why we need a foreign national rather than hiring in-country for the position. Prospective candidates are encouraged to include information on their Resumes/CVs regarding work eligibility status for the country/territory in which you wish to work.
Q: Do you offer non-summer internships?
A: Yes, but it is based on business needs. You can send a resume to Human Resources and a cover letter requesting an internship and you will be notified if there are any available opportunities. For more details and contact information, including information about our regular summer internship programs please visit the Internship page in the Careers section of the website.
Q: What should I major in to work for IMG?
A: Although some positions do require professional training, accreditation or qualifications such as lawyers, accountants, etc., there are often positions that do not require a specific degree. Also, areas like IT and media production require technical skills and qualifications that can also be a useful background for non-technical positions. For example, it might be helpful for a person responsible for selling media rights to have a technical background. Legal and accountancy qualifications and experience can form a solid foundation for many commercial and management positions. With the exception of entry-level positions, candidates are typically required to have some relevant work experience.
Q: Do you hire for all of your office locations?
A: All of our offices accept new hires based on business needs.
Q: What happens after I submit my resume?
A: Your qualifications will be reviewed against the requirements, and if there is a match, y ou will be contacted by an IMG representative.
